Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize your education, training, and experience to conduct thorough psychosocial assessments and provide accurate diagnoses for students facing emotional and behavioral health challenges.
• Collaborate with students and their families to develop individualized and patient-centered treatment plans that align with their unique needs and goals.
• Employ evidence-based behavioral interventions, including techniques such as solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and behavioral activation, to promote positive mental health outcomes.
• Maintain coordination with other mental health professionals, psychologists, primary care providers, and other service providers to ensure comprehensive and integrated care for students.
• Consistently monitor treatment responses through virtual check-ins or in-person interactions, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure progress toward established goals.
• Assist in the management of psychotropic medications as prescribed, focusing on adherence, monitoring side effects, and evaluating treatment effectiveness.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on students ranging from kindergarten to high school who may exhibit a variety of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, and behavioral challenges. As an LCSW in a school environment, you will play a critical role in identifying and supporting at-risk youth, collaborating with families, and developing strategies to enhance student resilience and academic achievement.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Current, valid, and unrestricted LCSW license in the state of California.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience working as an independently licensed therapist in mental health settings.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in school-based mental health services is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with evidence-based practices for treating children and adolescents.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with educators and parents.

Compensation and Benefits
