Work EnvironmentThis role is set within a remote workspace, enabling you to manage your own schedule and work from the comfort of your home. Our outpatient office setting is designed to be accessible, and we actively encourage all employees to engage in professional development opportunities remotely.
Key Responsibilities- Establish and manage an independent schedule, with no required minimum hours.
- Conduct individual therapy sessions utilizing various methodologies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on each client’s unique goals and progress.
- Offer group therapy sessions or support groups as an optional element of care, fostering a collaborative recovery atmosphere.
- Actively engage patients in discussions about recovery options, focusing on both moderation and abstinence based upon their needs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, referring clients to relevant community support options like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Smart Recovery when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation for all client interactions while the administrative team handles billing and other back-end obligations.
- Participate in monthly peer group discussions to enhance your practice and share insights with colleagues, as desired.
- Keep abreast of new developments in the mental health field and acquire Continuing Education Units (CEUs) annually, with costs covered by the company.
The primary clientele at Cygnus are individuals navigating complex relationships with alcohol. Many clients are focused on moderation rather than full abstinence, necessitating a counselor skilled in harm-reduction strategies. This approach emphasizes empathy, understanding, and a commitment to fostering a safe environment for patients to explore their attitudes toward alcohol and recovery in realistic, supportive settings.
Qualifications- A valid professional licensure in the state of Washington as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, with a deep understanding of mental health issues related to substance use.
- Demonstrated training or certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or other evidence-based therapeutic methodologies.
- Proven ability to engage with clients from a place of empathy and understanding, fostering trust and rapport.
- Knowledge of community recovery support systems and resources that can benefit clients.
- Experience working with clients seeking assistance for alcohol use and related behavioral health challenges.
- Familiarity with harm-reduction techniques and the ability to gracefully navigate discussions regarding moderation vs. abstinence.
- Experience in a telehealth or remote counseling environment is a plus, accommodating the unique needs of online therapy.
This position offers an annual salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
