Position Overview

Medstar Behavioral Health Center is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our team in a full-time remote capacity. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide critical mental health support to individuals in a school setting, where you can truly make a difference in the lives of children and adolescents. With a salary range of $80,000 to $100,000 per year, this role also comes with a sign-on bonus for the right candidate.

Work Environment

As a remote position, you will have the flexibility to conduct therapy sessions from the comfort of your home while still being an integral part of our cohesive team. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments to identify clients' mental health concerns, strengths, and available resources.
  • Provide individualized therapy sessions, including individual, family, and group therapy utilizing evidence-based modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and trauma-focused therapy.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow professionals, including psychiatrists and psychologists, to create and implement client-centered treatment plans.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions and psychoeducation classes, tailoring the curriculum to address specific issues faced by individuals in the school environment.
  • Engage in crisis intervention, collaborate on risk assessments, and develop safety plans whenever necessary.
  • Maintain precise, timely documentation in adherence to ethical and legal standards, which is crucial for effective case management and care continuity.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on children and adolescents in a school setting who are facing various mental health challenges. This includes addressing issues related to academic pressures, social relationships, and family dynamics. Your expertise will give these young clients the tools and strategies they need to navigate their mental health challenges while fostering a supportive environment for their growth.

Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Social Work from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited program.
  • Current and active state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of various evidence-based therapeutic modalities and treatment approaches.
Preferred Experience
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a mental health or outpatient setting, specifically working with children and adolescents.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and assessment skills to build rapport with clients and their families.
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and understanding of school systems.
