Performing rigid bus analysis and the design of electrical substation steel structures, equipment foundations, and secondary oil containment.
Being mentored by more experienced engineers.
Providing support for our clients during construction. Performing field inspections and compliance documentation. Leading a team of single-discipline professionals to ensure project success. Presenting designs and proposals to clients, permitting authorities, public interest groups, etc. Corresponding and/or meeting with clients, contractors, and vendors. Participating in project proposal efforts. Advancing into leadership roles. QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a directly related field from an ABET-accredited program and three (3) years of structural engineering experience in the areas listed below.
Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a directly related field from an ABET-accredited program and two (2) years of structural engineering experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, plus three (3) years of described experience in the areas listed below, is acceptable.
Performing rigid bus analysis and the design of electrical substation steel structures, equipment foundations, and secondary oil containment.
Developing performance and material specificationsStrong knowledge of standard structural engineering techniques and procedures.
Strong knowledge of structural design codes (e.g., IBC, AISC, ACI, ASCE 7). Experience with ASCE 113 strongly preferred.
Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
Strong knowledge of structural analysis programs (e.g., RISA 3D, STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAFE).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Working knowledge of CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, Tekla).
Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
Strong attention to detail, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Performing field inspections and compliance documentation.
Being part of or leading a team of single-discipline professionals to ensure project success.
