POSITION SUMMARYMcCarthy's Renewable Energy Business Unit is looking for aSCADA Project Engineer tomanage large utility-grade renewable energy projects throughout the United States. The successful candidate willbe responsible forSCADA project management during early phases of SCADA scope execution. Responsibilities includerepresentingthe SCADA operations team during preconstruction, procurement, and design. Completion of these functions requires technical competencies as well as leadership competencies in working with various departments to ensure that the necessary coordination takes place early on for successful SCADA system design, procurement,construction,and commissioning.  RESPONSIBILITIESPreconstruction support:Support the preconstruction team during SCADA scope specification developmenttomeet the requirements detailed in the scope of work document.
Ensurelessons learned fromproject lifecyclearecaptured in the SCADA contract and relevantscopedocuments. Analyze other scopes toidentifypossible scopegaps. Procurement support:Coordination with the SCADA procurement teamto ensurethat the proposed Bill of Material is in line with the scope of work documents and specifications.
Cross reference project milestone dates and equipment lead times to ensure equipment delivery is aligned with the project schedule. Provide analysisof Owner specstodeterminereasonableness and alignmentonprojects.
Work withProcurementto thoroughly vet out proposals as well as any potential options or features that may add value to the customer and/or reduce McCarthy’s risk.
Designsupport:Coordinate with the design management and SCADA operations team to ensure that all SCADA related design documents are reviewed by the operations team before final revision. Represent SCADA ops team during early designreviews. Analyze other scopes toidentifypossible scopegaps.
Track design revisions andmodifications andensure they get incorporated into drawing sets. SCADA operations support:Setup project tracker scope of work and design documents. Capture unique scope and communicatethemto the SCADA ops project management team. Oversee the effective transition to the specific project teamsand note design changes that have occurred to date.
Improve processes and look for ways to streamline and find efficiencies in the SCADA scopethroughouttheprojectlife cycle. QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related fieldrequired2years experiencewithSCADA and controlsonsolar/ energy projectsAdvanced knowledge of construction principles/ practicesAbility to read and interpret drawings and specificationsExperience in managingvendorsas well asbuilding relationships with ownersStrong work ethic and desire to work in a team environmentDemonstratedtrack recordof job-site safety excellenceAbility to travel up to 10% nationwideMcCarthy is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, including disability and protected veteran status.
