Machine Builder $20-28/hr Permanent Hire

Job Description

Plan and perform all required operations connected with the erection and assembly of machinery and auxiliaries following standard or accepted methods and procedures. This role involves erecting and assembling large equipment with a considerable number of parts, requiring skill and care to maintain close tolerances in fits, alignments, and clearances. Work from drawings, schematics, and other specifications to plan erection procedures. Finish, align, shim, and dowel as necessary. Set wheels, assemble pump brackets on pumps, and check and adjust alignments and clearances. Attach and connect high and low pressure hydraulic, air, coolant, and other tube lines. Detect and report defective materials, improper operation, and unusual conditions to proper supervision.
Responsibilities
  • Plan and perform operations connected with the erection and assembly of machinery.
  • Erect and assemble large equipment with precise fits, alignments, and clearances.
  • Work from drawings, schematics, and other specifications to plan erection procedures.
  • Finish, align, shim, and dowel as necessary.
  • Set wheels and assemble pump brackets on pumps, check and adjust alignments and clearances.
  • Attach and connect high and low pressure hydraulic, air, coolant, and other tube lines.
  • Detect and report defective materials, improper operation, and unusual conditions.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of machine building experience.
  • Troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings.
  • Knowledge of 120VAC, 240VAC, 480VAC, 600VAC & 24V DC is a plus.
  • Proficiency in using a tape measure and basic math skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work 1st shift and be on feet for 8 consecutive hours.

Work Environment

This is a direct placement position in a heavy industrial environment focused on machine building. The facility is very large and busy, with an overflow of work indicating a fast-paced environment. The shift is from 6am to 2:30pm, with possible extended hours until 3:30 or 4:30pm and occasional half-day Saturdays.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37440.00 - $58240.00/yr.
