Job Title: Animal Care Technician

Job Description

This role involves working with both cats and dogs in a facility dedicated to improving pet food palatability. As an Animal Care Technician, you will focus on animal care without any customer interaction.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain kennels and facility areas, ensuring they are organized, sanitized, and free of odors.
  • Feed cats and dogs on schedule and ensure they have access to clean water.
  • Use provided pet toys to play and socialize with the animals.
  • Bathe and groom the animals.
  • Prepare pet food for scheduled feedings and weigh leftover food for disposal.
  • Maintain documentation on dogs and cats, updating information as needed.
  • Provide exceptional animal care and maintain a supportive and collaborative environment.
Essential Skills
  • Experience around large groups of animals is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with jobs that involve being on your feet and performing cleaning duties (e.g., production work, restaurant work).
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma required.
  • 6 months or more of animal care experience in a veterinary environment, kennel, or shelter is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in farm work, grooming, pet store, shelter, humane society, vet clinic, vet hospital, animal husbandry, animal science, animal breeding, or vivarium is beneficial.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50
