*Job Overview* We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Ohio Certified Peer Specialist to join our team. This role is designed for individuals who have personal experience with mental health or substance use challenges and are committed to helping others on their recovery journey. The Certified Peer Specialist will provide support, guidance, and advocacy for individuals facing similar challenges, utilizing their lived experience to foster hope and resilience. *Responsibilities* * Provide one-on-one support to clients, helping them navigate their recovery process. * Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage clients in setting and achieving personal goals. * Assist clients in developing coping strategies and skills for managing their mental health or addiction issues. * Collaborate with other professionals in the behavioral health system to ensure comprehensive care for clients. * Conduct crisis intervention when necessary, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients. * Mentor individuals in recovery, sharing personal insights and strategies that have proven effective. * Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress within established systems. * Advocate for clients needs within the community and help them access necessary resources. *Qualifications* * Certification as an Ohio Peer Specialist is required. * Experience in addiction counseling or mental health counseling is preferred. * Strong understanding of behavioral health systems and crisis management techniques. * Proficiency in motivational interviewing and mentoring practices. * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. * Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment. * A genuine passion for helping others achieve their recovery goals.
