Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced diesel mechanic to join our team in East Syracuse, NY. As a Diesel Mechanic Expert, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties including standard vehicle maintenance, preventive maintenance, and complex repairs.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems with minimal support.
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints and provide solutions.
  • Instruct and advise other technicians on maintenance repair procedures and diagnostics.
  • Coach/mentor other level technicians.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Vocational or technical certification post-secondary degree or technical certifications preferred.
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
  • Four years or more relevant work experience preferred.
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred.

Benefits:

  • Hourly pay: $36.00 per hour.
  • Sign-on bonus: Ryder pays $1250 at 30 days and $1250 at 90 days.
  • Certification bonus: Ryder pays $100 for each new ASE certification obtained up to $700.
  • Quarterly bonus: Ryder pays up to $500 every quarter - four times per year.
