Job Title: Quality Control Safety Coordinator

Weekly Pay $25-$30/hr
Job Description

As a Quality Control Safety Coordinator, you will ensure conformance to our Quality Management System and Health & Safety programs. You will be an active participant in the Safety committee and Emergency Response teams, and will be responsible for evaluating, modifying, developing, and implementing various program procedures, instructions, and forms.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor customer complaints, field install issues, product returns, and warranty data.
  • Maintain statistical data, analyze quality and safety trends, and initiate team-based 8D problem-solving and root cause analysis sessions using various methodologies.
  • Make timely and effective decisions through planning, evaluating, and implementing business goals & objectives, management systems, policies, and programs, stressing accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Perform and coach teams to conduct quality audits, health & safety inspections, and maintain documentation for Gemba walk discussions.
  • Manage quality non-conformance and corrective action reporting for continuous improvement efforts.
  • Manage health & safety observations, near-miss incidents, and injury investigations, including 8D reporting.
  • Lead quality and safety continuous improvement projects.
  • Perform and coach technicians and floor leads in product work-in-process, final assembly, and first article quality inspections as required.
  • Maintain reject material logs, material disposition, and lead material review board meetings, including supplier follow-ups with purchasing agents.
  • Proactively inform and recommend solutions to management on quality issues, generating engineering change requests (ECR) as required for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain calibration and asset control, ensuring all equipment used for monitoring, measuring, and testing on the production floor is calibrated and functioning properly at required intervals.
  • Use mechanical inspection equipment proficiently, including calipers, micrometers, indicators, go/no-go gauges, and other electronic inspection equipment.
  • Promote a positive attitude and safe work atmosphere in accordance with company EHS and OSHA policies.
  • Work unsupervised while maintaining company quality management and safety standards, reporting to the QHSE Manager on-site or remotely.
  • Travel occasionally as required (5-10% of the time).
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the QHSE department manager.

  • Proficiency in using mechanical inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, go/no-go gauges, and other electronic inspection equipment
  • Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivated

  • Experience in leading quality and safety continuous improvement projects
  • Proficiency in conducting quality audits and health & safety inspections
  • Capability to lift 50 pounds alone and more than 50 pounds with assistance

Work Environment

This position operates on the 1st shift, from 8 am to 5 pm, in a standard office environment with frequent sitting or standing for extended periods. Occasional to frequent walking in and around manufacturing plants is required. Appropriate personal protective equipment, including hearing/eye protection, gloves, and safety shoes, must be worn. The role requires the ability to lift 50 pounds alone and more than 50 pounds with assistance.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
