The Electrical Engineer 1 is responsible for the design of electrical control systems for all of Pflow's vertical lifting system solutions using Computer Aided Design and Detailing (CADD) software, ensuring that designs meet customer specifications and are in accordance with codes, regulations and best engineering practices.SummaryThe Electrical Engineer 1 is responsible for the design of electrical control systems for all of Pflow's vertical lifting system solutions using Computer Aided Design and Detailing (CADD) software, ensuring that designs meet customer specifications and are in accordance with codes, regulations and best engineering practices.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesThis list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.Creates electrical and control system drawings and schematics, showing product details, dimensions and structures and includes parts lists and assembly procedures using CADD softwareSelects appropriate electrical components, creates bills of materials and archives drawings in accordance with application requirements, procedures and best practicesDevelops electrical and control system drawings and schematics for Pflow's product line, manuals and service bulletinsEnsures that all drawings and schematics are detailed, accurate, complete and in accordance with customer requirements, codes, regulations and company proceduresDelivers all electrical and control system drawings and schematics according to schedules and deadlines set by customers and Engineering Department ManagementConverts verbal and written information into electrical and control system drawings and schematicsProvides internal support and knowledge to Field Service, Manufacturing, Customer Support, Sales and Project ManagementContributes innovative ideas, skills and work product as part of a small project group and as an individualParticipates in and implements improvements and makes suggestions for cost controlsUtilizes CADD, Product Data Management (PDM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software as a routine course of business and demonstrates a willingness and ability for continued learning and skills advancementAnalyzes customer, electrical and regulatory requirements to develop practical, effective and complete electrical solutions for vertical lifting equipmentKeeps work environment clean, safe and positiveLives Pflow Core Values:Pride & Passion - Be Tenacious and Resourceful Friendly & Fair - Do the Right Thing Listen, Learn & Lead - Seek a Better Way Owners & Operators - Act Like it Work & Win - Together as 1 TeamDescription of Marginal Job Functions: Responds to customer request regarding a particular product or design when requested Assists with lab prototype testing and set-up including wiring, PLC/VFD testing when requested Sets personal goals for continued learning and growthQUalificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requires a basic knowledge of Electrical Engineering or equivalent derived from a combination of relevant education and work experience Requires at least two (2) years of work experience in fabrication, heavy equipment or related manufacturing industry with some work developing engineering drawings, schmatics and applying engineering principles Requires knowledge of electrical and mechanical components and a good electrical/mechanical aptitude Requires knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Industrial Controls and Devices and Servo controllers Requires a basic understanding of hydraulic power systems (pumps, motors, cylinders, valves, servo-hydraulics, etc.) Requires a working knowledge of CADD software Requires the ability to develop proficiency with PDM and ERP software Requires the ability to convert verbal and written information into two dimensional drawings and schematics Requires excellent problem-solving skills and the ability and desire to develop innovative practical solutions Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively relay technical product information and solutions in a professional manner Requires the ability to work independently and as part of a project team Requires self-motivation, creativity and an inquisitive nature to develop and design unique lifting solutions in a fast-paced environment Requires the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while producing accurate, detailed and high-quality work design work Requires computer literacy and the ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) proficiently Requires the ability to use basic office equipment: fax, voicemail, copier, calculator, etc.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
