About This Role The School of Health Sciences, within the College of Health and Human Sciences, is looking to hire two 9-month faculty members at the rank of Teaching Assistant Professor (non-tenure track), Assistant/Associate Professor (tenure track), or Professor with tenure to join their Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) program. Candidates with expertise and experience across the lifespan with a focus on one or more of the following areas are preferred, although all areas of specialization will be considered: dysphagia, adult neurological disorders, and neuroanatomy. Responsibilities for either tenured, tenure track, or non-tenure track include, but are not limited to: Teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels Mentor graduate students in clinical aspects of their professional development Advise graduate students Provide service to the program, school, college, and university Tenured and tenure-track only: establish and maintain a cohesive research program to include dissemination through peer-reviewed outlets and pursuit of external funding This 9-month position at the rank of teaching assistant professor or assistant/associate/full professor has a preferred starting date of August 2026, with a competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. What You'll Need to Succeed Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. or Ed.D. in communication sciences and disorders or closely related field (ABD considered with Ph.D. completion date of May 2027) Demonstrated success in teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels Ability to mentor and develop undergraduate and graduate students in academic and clinical settings Effective interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration and interprofessional education opportunities To be considered for the rank of assistant professor: Potential to develop and sustain an active program of research in area of expertise, publish in peer-reviewed outlets, and pursue external funding To be considered for the rank of associate professor or professor: Evidence of a robust research program in area of expertise with demonstrated funding and publication records commensurate with rank The degree requirement is necessary for accreditation purposes and to ensure candidates possess the specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities that can only be attained through a formal educational program at this level. Preferred Qualifications: Record of research activity, publications, and external funding in area of expertise Experience with a variety of clinical populations and person-centered care Possess CCC-SLP and eligibility for Kansas licensure Relevant professional/clinical experience Sponsorship eligibility: This position is eligible for sponsorship.
