Substitute Teacher - On-Call. This position pays $17.00 per hour. Family Church is a growing network of neighborhood churches and classical Christian schools in South Florida. Come join an enthusiastic team who loves serving the Lord while building His Kingdom Position Overview This position is a substitute teacher role for kindergarten through eighth grade, supporting a classical Christian curriculum that involves a love for ancient wisdom, instilling virtue, connecting Christ to every subject, and developing world class rhetorical skills. Reports to the Principal Qualifications * Evidence of strong Christian faith and values and acknowledgement of the School's Statement of Faith and Staff Leadership Covenant. * Associate degree or higher education level. * Evidence of knowledge of elementary curriculum. * Evidence of ability to interact collaboratively with students, parents, and Administration. * Evidence of excellent oral and written skills. * Must pass drug test, fingerprints, and local background check. Skills * Communication both written and oral. * Commitment to school's vision and mission. * Classroom leadership. * Flexible. * Teamwork. * Able to get up and down from the floor or small chairs multiple times a day. * Excellent integrity and demonstrates ability to model strong Christian character in their life to others. Responsibilities * Applies lesson plans and teaches knowledge and skills to students utilizing the course of study prescribed by the approved curriculum. * Maintains as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classrooms to which they are assigned. * Assumes responsibility for overseeing student behavior in class and at other times during the school day as requested. * Maintains appropriate student behavior at all times throughout the school day for assigned students.
