Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Therapist

The Florida Center for Early Childhood is seeking a full-time mental health therapist to work in Desoto and Hardee County, who is passionate about working with young children and their families. This position provides individual and family therapy to children and families and works as team member with case managers, foster parents, guardians ad-litem, and other professionals when appropriate. The Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health therapist will use a variety of theoretical approaches which may include: Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Circle of Security Parenting, and other play-based and relational techniques. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in trauma informed care, be open to reflective supervision, and be willing to participate in trainings to further their knowledge-base in infant and early childhood mental health. The candidate must hold a Masters Degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field. The candidate must be licensed or a license-eligible registered intern. Qualified supervision will be provided to registered interns at no additional cost. Candidate must be available to work Monday-Friday and willing to flex hours on occasion to accommodate families needs. We do NOT require therapists to work weekends and there is NO on-call. Requirements: The therapist must speak English and Spanish. This is a travel based position, the therapist must be willing to travel. The therapist must maintain a caseload of 20 clients. Client can be services in the home, at preschools, or in the office. The therapist must maintain records, reports and written materials for the purpose of communicating information to parents, staff, providing written support, developing recommendations and/or conveying information. The therapist must conduct evaluations and program reporting for the mental health caseload.
