Maintenance Control Supervisor, McClellan, CA

  • $90,000-$120,000 annualized starting compensation range (DOE)

The Aircraft Maintenance Control Supervisor will have direct oversight of the Maintenance Control Department and responsibility for ensuring decisions concerning the course of action for aircraft readiness are in alignment with FARs and Company Policy & Procedures. The Maintenance Control Supervisor will provide virtual support to company Aviation Maintenance Technicians and Maintenance Support Services to provide a layer of checks and balances.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • This position supervises in accordance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, REACH General Operations Manual, General Maintenance Procedures, and Company Policies & Procedures.
  • Consults with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) technical representatives.
  • The Maintenance Control Supervisor is responsible to develop a skilled and qualified staff to provide document compliance review, provide status of aircraft airworthiness, and facilitate the management of deferred maintenance.
  • The Maintenance Control Supervisor works directly with the Hangar and Regional Maintenance Managers, Aviation Administrator On-Call (AAOC) to assist with planning all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance which may include aircraft repositioning and/or swaps.
  • Maintains daily oversight of Outside Vendor maintenance projects, documents progress and deviations through completion.
  • Has direct oversight of maintaining and updating our company aircraft maintenance status reporting system.
  • Oversees Spare aircraft allocation tracking.
  • The Maintenance Control Supervisor will coordinate data collection and monitoring of various business systems and processes within the maintenance department reliability program.
  • Coordinates with QA Department to ensure accurate and timely completion of maintenance signoffs and work order documentation in accordance with REACH procedures and federal regulations.
  • Maintains the MxC work schedule with PTO requests and appropriate duty coverage.
  • Communicates upcoming events and operational changes to the Controllers.
  • Provides guidance to the Controllers on performance of their duties and on developing skills.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Valid Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate required.
  • Inspection Authorization (IA) certificate required.
  • Previous experience working under CFR Parts 135 and 145 preferred.
  • Highly knowledgeable of Federal Aviation Regulations, and of EMS aviation practices and requirements.
  • Maintenance experience on the, Airbus EC135, EC130, AS350, and Beechcraft B200, aircraft preferred.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years aircraft maintenance experience, supervisory and management experience preferred.
  • May occasionally be required to travel to REACH to support the fleet.
  • Capable of maintaining flexibility and adaptability in leading company maintenance activities supporting around-the-clock air ambulance operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Basic computer skills (e.g., Smartsheet, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Power BI).

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

  • Must be acceptable in accordance with the FAA drug and alcohol testing program.
  • Activities requiring moderate amount of sitting, standing, walking, speaking and listening.
  • Frequent hands to key ability to input data and information.
  • Close and distance visual capabilities.
  • Capable of lifting 50 pounds floor to bench height.
  • Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.

Environmental Conditions: Entails exposure to the following environmental conditions:

  • Constant exposure to routine office noises, such as office machines, conversations, foot traffic; moderate electrical or mechanical hazards.
  • Some exposure (less than 1/3rd) to loud aircraft noise, moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic chemicals, airborne particles, risk of electrical shock.
  • Traveling by air or ground may be required.
