Duties and Responsibilities

The Campus Safety Office of Loyola University Chicago is currently conducting a search for a full-time Armed Campus Police Officer. Reporting to the Watch Commander.

  1. Maintain a safe environment for the University community, faculty, staff, and students.
  2. Responsibilities of this position include maintaining a safe environment for the University community by way of patrol (foot and vehicular) of buildings, grounds, parking lots, off-campus facilities, and city streets within our jurisdiction.
  3. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience

High school diploma or GED, successful completion of 400+ hours of police academy training from a State of IL certified program, and one year of related experience.

Licenses

State of Illinois certified firearms training; a current F.O.I.D. card and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications
  1. Requires prior police experience in a recognized armed police department.
  2. Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  3. Must pass an extensive background investigation, drug screening, and psychological test.

Certificates/Credentials/Licenses
