SUMMARY
Perform the day-to-day activities of the laundry department as assigned, toassure that an adequate supply of linen and personal garments are on hand atall times to meet the daily needs of residents and that the department ismaintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
*Note: Other duties may be assigned

•Collect, sort, and weigh soiled laundry, linen,garments, etc., and place in appropriate containers or assigned areas forlaundering.

•Wash and dry soiled laundry, linen, garments,etc., in accordance with established procedures.

•Press/iron clean garments and mend and labelpersonal belongings as instructed.

•Fold, count, stack, hang, and distribute cleanlaundry, linens, garments, etc., to residents daily,

•and/or as instructed.

•Assist in the care and maintenance of laundryfacilities, equipment, and supplies. Clean machines, floors, walls, andequipment as assigned.

•Communicate with residents, resident families,laundry, and other departments.

•Maintain established department policies,procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infectioncontrol. Attend and participate in department, staff, in-service classes ,on-the-job training programs, etc., as scheduled, or as directed.

SUPERVISORYRESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachessential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representativeof the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/orEXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, andmemos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively presentinformation in one-on-one and small group
situations to customers, clients, andother employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, usingwhole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio,and percent and to draw and interpret bargraphs.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnishedin written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involvingseveral concrete variables in standardized situations.
