Griswold Home Care in Laguna Hills is calling all compassionate individuals to apply to join our amazing team as a part-time/pier diem Caregiver or CNA

Compensation: $19.00-$22.00 (compensation is based on education, background working as a caregiver in a facility or in a home care setting, and skills)

We are currently serving clients care needs in the following areas: Irvine, Great Park, Lake Forest, Laguna Woods, Laguna Hills, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Niguel, and Dana Point.

YOUR LIFE AS A CAREGIVER

This companionship and caregiving position offers flexible hours and opportunities to assist seniors on both day and night shifts. Clients may receive as little as 4 hours of care, while others require 24-hour care.

As a Caregiver, you have the rewarding job of helping seniors live as fully and independently as possible while remaining in the places they love. You competently provide non-medical elderly care and home companionship, helping with various responsibilities such as laundry, grocery shopping, and meal preparation. With the client's dignity always at the forefront of your mind, you help them maintain proper personal hygiene. You are gentle and professional as you aid them with daily tasks such as bathing and feeding. At times, you provide companionship to clients who have dementia or cognitive impairments. Your kind and patient demeanor serves you well as you ensure they receive the highest quality of elderly care.

You carefully complete documentation for each shift, submitting timely updates. Committed to providing consistent elderly care, you communicate routinely with the office about the condition and needs of your clients. You feel good about helping seniors enjoy their golden years, and you are glad you chose a career in the care giving industry.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
  • Reliable transportation
  • BLS and First Aid certification is preferred. If this applies to you we will gladly accept a copy of these credentials.
  • Copy of TB Results/or a Chest X-ray
  • Valid Drivers License/and valid insurance (Job requirement as we offer transportation services to clients)
  • We will need you to complete all required initial paid training and complete any ongoing annual training
  • You will need to be on the Home Care Aide registry with the State of California or apply to meet the basic requirements of the position. Applicants will need to be on the registry prior to applying or the application will need to be in progress at time of submitting an application. This will help speed up the hiring process to be able to accept clients.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 2+ years of experience working with seniors in a home care setting is a plus. However, we are willing to train the right person with at least 6 months of relevant experience.
  • Must be willing to learn about chronic conditions or have experience/expertise in dementia or Alzheimer's-related diseases. The ideal caregiver should be familiar with the signs and symptoms of these conditions.
  • A valid driver's license and car insurance are required due to the transportation services that we provide for clients.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and become active on the California Home Care Registry. We will need this to be completed prior to applying or an application in progress before applying.
  • At least two professional references who can speak to your experience as a caregiver or your work history.
