By welcoming all who visit or call the community in a warm, helpful and competent manner, the Concierge plays a vital role in creating a positive first impression. The Concierge is responsible for facilitating communications for residents and staff. The Concierge respectfully interacts with all residents, family members, visitors, colleagues and staff. This is a safety sensitive position.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSIt is understood that every incidental duty connected with operations listed in the job description is not always specifically described, and that employees, at the discretion of management, may be required to perform duties not within their job descriptions. The omission of an essential function does not preclude management from assigning duties not listed herein if such functions are a logical assignment to the position.Answers all telephone calls that come into the main switchboard and transfers the calls appropriatelyGreets and welcomes all visitors to and vendors of the community and ensures proper sign-in protocol is followedInitiates, listens and responds, as necessary, to radio transmissions involving residents or staffMaintains the Concierge Resident Directory and Data SheetSafeguards confidential resident information and does not communicate it to anyone not authorized to have access to that informationAttends all in-service trainings and meetingsRegular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this jobESSENTIAL MENTAL AND PHYSICAL FUNCTIONSThe essential mental and physical functions listed below are required in order for an employee to be able to perform the essential functions of this position.Ability to read and write, follow written and verbal instructions, and communicate effectively in English.Thinking critically; defined as reading, understanding, and taking appropriate action on detailed and complex information.Sitting for long periods of timeLifting and carrying up to 10 lbsRepetitive actions/motion of one or both handsHearing ordinary conversation and office soundsVerbal communication in person and on the phoneWritten communication by hand and on PCQualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or GEDTwo years of experience in communications or receptionPossess or ability to learn and operate a PBX system and radio base unit within three months of employmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsComputer literacy which includes, but is not limited to, Microsoft Office suite
