The Impact You'll Make As a Facilities Engineer / Electrical Engineer at Lam, with your project management expertise, you'll plan and oversee facility changes for plant, tool installations, and production equipment layouts. You'll work with architects to develop design criteria, layouts, and prepare contracts. You inspect construction and installation progress to ensure adherence with established specifications and schedules. Your focus on performance specifications required to meet unique operating conditions contributes to the efficiency and compliance of Lam's state of the art facilities.
What You'll Do Responsible for Fremont and Livermore campus electrical infrastructure systems.
Core electrical systems of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
Medium voltage systems (21kV distribution)
Low voltage systems (480V/208V distribution, UPS, Emergency Generator/ATS)
Provide electrical engineering design review input and approval for facility infrastructure and process tool installation projects.
Provide electrical engineering construction input and commissioning support for facility infrastructure projects.
Review short circuit coordination and arc flash studies and provide input to improve system coordination and reliability.
Support as-built documentation of electrical system and single line diagrams.
Maintain load/capacity reports for facility infrastructure systems and forecast load growth.
Drive improvement of electrical infrastructure to increase system reliability and uptime.
Experience with standard operating procedure creation and training skills.
Experience with energy efficiency improvement projects.
Work directly with contractors and service providers to ensure delivery of operational results.
Perform Failure Mode and Effect Analysis during project design development phase.
Capital and expensed project financial management and control experience.
Who We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with a minimum of 5 years of semiconductor R&D lab/wafer fab facility engineering experience.
Experience working with insurance provider (FM Global) to ensure reliable facility operation.
Demonstrated proficiency in problem solving and root cause analysis skills.
Solid written and oral communication skills.
Continuous improvement and innovative mindset.
Thrive in working in a fast-paced, high-energy work environment.
Value internal and cross-functional teamwork to solve problems.
Assertive nature and willingness to support customer needs when challenged.
Capable of supporting multiple concurrent projects and assignments.
Experience working with local electrical utility providers.
Familiarity using power modeling software such as ETAP, SKM, EasyPower.
Strong working knowledge of NFPA 70/NEC code requirements and NFPA 70E electrical safety requirements.
Experience creating equipment maintenance programs to align with NFPA 70B and NETA requirements.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
Salary
CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $89,000.00 - $205,000.00.
The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
