The Fitness team of the Provo City Recreation division is looking for high-performing, energetic individuals to fill the role of Fitness Instructor in various formats. Job Details
Application Review Process: This is an open file posting. Applications will be reviewed in the order they are received for any positions available at that time. They will remain on file for a minimum of 60 days. Applicants must meet the minimum requirements listed below to be eligible for consideration.
Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour and up, depending upon qualifications.
Essential Duties:
- Conduct unique and quality workout classes in assigned fitness format(s) that motivate and keep patrons safe.
- Assist recreation staff as needed and perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Sufficient knowledge of the format in which you are applying to teach (i.e. aerobics, kickboxing, Pilates, yoga, fitness, gymnastics, language, martial arts, dance, art, music, etc.).
- Current related fitness and CPR certifications.
- Physical ability required to perform the duties of the job.
- Preference may be given to applicants with previous fitness instructing experience.
Physical/Environmental Factors: This position requires bending, stooping, stretching, and occasionally lifting objects that weigh up to 50lbs. May involve interactions with members of the public in tense situations.
Pre-employment Testing: Prior to appointment, applicant will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
