Position description

The Center for Neurobehavioral Genetics is seeking a dynamic and personable individual to join our team as an Adjunct Professor (junior to mid-level). This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of faculty and staff focused on the genetics of neurobehavioral disorders. The successful candidate will contribute to research on the genetics of severe mental illnesses and the development of machine learning methodologies to advance precision psychiatry.

Key Qualifications and Expertise:

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in computer science, bioinformatics or a related field, with a proven record of excellence in research and mentoring. Applicants should demonstrate expertise in developing analytical pipelines for high-dimensional and longitudinal data, such as electronic health records (EHR). Experience managing and maintaining multi-cloud computing infrastructures is required.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  1. A research focus on innovative methodologies for analyzing complex longitudinal data to enable precision health research.
  2. A strong publication record in domestic and international peer-reviewed journals, with the ability to present findings effectively to diverse audiences.
  3. Advanced training in machine learning.
  4. Familiarity with literature on the genetics of severe mental illnesses.
  5. A demonstrated ability to mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
  6. Leadership skills, including vision-setting and strategic planning for team projects.
  7. Commitment to travel internationally to collaborate with global partners, contributing to the center's mission of training and mentoring diverse populations.
  8. Prior experience working with large consortia is a plus.
  9. An interest in pursuing research funding through grant writing and a willingness to develop skills in managing awarded grants.

The salary range for this position is $153,800 - $327,800.
