If you love mentoring young musicians, creating a positive learning environment, and helping students grow as performers _and_ leaders, this is the perfect position for you. *About the Role* This role requires strong proficiency in *voice and piano*, as you will teach both instruments each week. Alongside musical instruction, youll support our schools mission of developing leadership, confidence, responsibility, and character in every student. *What Youll DoPrivate Music Instruction (Voice & Piano)* * Teach one-on-one lessons in *both voice and piano* * Customize instruction based on each students goals and level * Teach vocal technique, repertoire, breath support, diction, musicianship, and theory * Teach piano fundamentals, technique, repertoire, and stylistic diversity *Leadership & Character Development* * Integrate leadership principles into weekly lessons * Build students confidence, discipline, and responsibility * Encourage long-term goal-setting and personal growth *Planning & Instruction* * Create engaging lesson plans aligned with our leadership-focused curriculum * Use fun, creative teaching strategies to keep students motivated * Prepare students for recitals, performances, and milestones *Communication & Support* * Communicate with families through Opus (our digital lesson platform) * Provide updates on schedules, progress, expectations, closures, and reminders * Manage absences, questions, and makeup availability professionally *Classroom Management* * Maintain a welcoming, structured, and supportive learning environment * Address focus or behavior concerns calmly and effectively *What You Must Have* *These qualifications are required:* * Ability to *play and teach BOTH voice and piano* (non-negotiable) * Previous experience teaching private lessons * Strong understanding of vocal pedagogy and piano instruction * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to create effective lesson plans * Passion for mentorship, leadership, and character development _A degree is not required we value strong musicianship, professionalism, and a heart for teaching._ *Why Teach With PSMD?* * Supportive, positive team environment * Students who are excited to learn * Consistent weekly schedule and dependable hours * A mission-driven program that values leadership and character * A workplace that respects your time, skill, and creativity *We Welcome All Applicants* PSMD is an equal opportunity employer and encourages candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply.
