Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement tooling strategies to support production goals.
  • Manage new tool construction projects.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure efficient tooling design and implementation.
  • Manage the tooling repair department.
  • Design and develop tooling for large-scale machinery, ensuring compatibility with high-tonnage presses and other advanced equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize tooling for large-scale, complex machinery operations.
  • Monitor tooling performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Design and develop new tooling, fixtures, and gauges to support production activities.
  • Create and maintain documentation for all tooling and processes.
  • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure quality and reliability of tooling.
  • Research technologies for enhanced mold repair, maintenance, and construction of new and existing molds to ensure improved performance.
  • Collaborate with engineering to assure new and existing product and tool designs are moldable and suggest design changes or alternative processes.
  • Proactively seek opportunities for continuous improvement by researching new technologies for improvements to products, molds, materials, and manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with vendors to bring alternative methods, materials, and equipment to manufacturing to improve molds and mold maintenance.
  • Assist manufacturing in process improvement.
