Senior Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney
As a premier law firm specializing in Workers' Compensation, our firm is seeking experienced Senior and Associate Workers' Compensation Attorneys to join our team. This role involves managing a variety of workers' compensation cases from inception through resolution, investigating claims, and advocating on behalf of employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators. The position is remote, offering a dynamic work environment conducive to professional growth with substantial client interaction and opportunities for career advancement within the company.
Salary: $120,000.00 - $210,000.00 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Advocate on behalf of insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and self-insured employers.
Prepare and manage client correspondence, draft pleadings, and negotiate settlements.
Regularly attend court appearances, manage case calendars, and conduct depositions and cross-examinations of medical and other experts.
Negotiate lien claims and engage in proactive case management to ensure efficient resolution of cases.
Mentor and oversee the work of legal assistants to ensure thorough case support and documentation.
Establish and maintain professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and external vendors.
Participate in and contribute to marketing events to foster relationships with existing and prospective clients.
Manage and input case details and documentation into legal and billing software systems adhering to strict deadlines.
Conduct training seminars for clients to educate them on current and evolving workers' compensation laws and strategies.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and active membership in the California State Bar.
At least 4 years of concentrated experience in workers' compensation law, handling a significant caseload in a defense-oriented capacity.
Exceptional knowledge of workers' compensation laws and procedures.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific acumen in legal writing and research.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience living or working in or near Fresno, CA.
Prior experience in client-facing roles within a legal or insurance setting preferred.
Exposure to PracticeMaster or similar legal practice management software.
Skills:
Ability to effectively communicate and negotiate with diverse clientele and opposing counsel.
Strategic thinking and analytical problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in time management and task prioritization.
Strong leadership skills with a collaborative team-based approach to case handling.
Familiarity with digital communication tools for remote teamwork and client interactions.
