Job Details Position Summary We are seeking a Senior Coverage Attorney to join the Insurance/Defense practice of a respected law firm. This attorney will handle complex insurance coverage matters (including first‐party property claims), UM/UI (uninsured/underinsured motorist) litigation, and other related matters. While a book of business is a plus, it is not required. The attorney will operate as a key team member supporting a senior associate who is set to retire in the next few years — creating a unique opportunity for the incoming attorney to step into greater responsibility, ramp up, and ultimately build their own practice. Key Responsibilities Manage coverage issue matters, including policy interpretation, additional insured status, allocation issues, extra-contractual exposure, and first‐party property claims. Lead UM/UI litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, trial preparation or trial. Counsel clients on strategy, risk assessment, and litigation management. Collaborate with firm leadership, supervising paralegals and junior attorneys as needed. Over time, develop client relationships and build a book of business; prepare to assume lead coverage attorney role as the senior associate transitions out. Requirements Senior‐level experience (e.g., 7+ years) in insurance coverage and UM/UI litigation; first‐party property claims exposure preferred. Strong litigation experience with a track record of managing matters independently. Excellent analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills. Proven ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues. Desire to grow professionally, build relationships, and eventually build a book of business. Interested in hearing more?
