Responsibilities
A Senior Mechanical Engineer – RF/Electronics Payloads will focus on conceptualizing and packaging PCBs and all other electrical and mechanical components related to the RF Payload system. The RF Payload represents one of the most critical components to AscendArc's mission and this role provides the opportunity to own this product from initial concepting through qualification and eventually launch into space. An ideal candidate will have system level mechanical design, analysis, and testing experience with the ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines (RF communications, Thermal, Structural, etc.) to develop an industry-defining RF communications package.
Qualifications
Electronics/PCB mechanical packaging experience
PCB mechanical layout experience and design for manufacturing knowledge on electronics assemblies
CAD design experience with NX or similar
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in cradle-to-grave spaceflight/launch hardware development, including initial concept design, detailed design, manufacturing, testing, integration, and post-launch support.
Avionics hardware design for space applications, GEO preferred
Familiarity with radiation-hardened component design.
Experience defining test criteria for payload/hardware qualification, including vibration, shock, TVAC, acoustic, and radiation tests.
Knowledge of spacecraft systems engineering processes.
Thermal or Structural FEA experience
The base salary range for this position is $125,000-160,000. When determining an individual's compensation, we consider several factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data, so pay for this role may vary from the amounts listed.
