Individual will complete advanced end to end engineering tasks for specific system assignments including designing, developing, analyzing, configuring, testing, debugging, troubleshooting, documenting, health monitoring/alerting, and implementing based on user or system specifications, consulting with users to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications, managing interaction between the systems and other technical support areas and defining technical requirements and coordinating team resources to solve problems. Guidewire Expertise: Leverage your professional experience with Guidewire, ideally PolicyCenter, to drive the development and configuration of solutions that meet business needs. You will be responsible for defining technical requirements, ensuring alignment with industry best practices, and optimizing system performance. Your deep understanding of Guidewire will be crucial in customizing and integrating the platform to enhance functionality and user experience. Defect and Incident Management: Perform analysis, assessment, and resolution for defects and incidents of advanced complexity, escalating appropriately when necessary. Your ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently will be key to maintaining system integrity and performance. Independent Problem Solving: Work independently to tackle well-scoped and loosely scoped problems, applying your technical expertise and creativity to develop effective solutions. Continuous Learning: Seek opportunities to expand your technical knowledge and capabilities, staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance your contributions to the team. Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced employees, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the team and organization. Guidewire Experience: Professional experience with Guidewire is essential, ideally PolicyCenter. You should have a proven track record of successfully implementing and customizing Guidewire solutions to meet business requirements. Programming/Development Experience: At least five years of programming/development experience, demonstrating proficiency in software development and system configuration. Cloud Experience: Experience working in the Cloud, ideally AWS, with a strong understanding of cloud-based architectures and services. Domain Expertise: Demonstrated track record of domain expertise, including understanding technical concepts necessary to do the job effectively. You should be aware of industry trends, demonstrate willingness, cooperation, and concern for business issues and priorities, and possess in-depth knowledge of immediate systems worked on and some knowledge of adjacent systems. Problem Solving: Strong problem solver who ensures solutions are built for the long term. You should be able to resolve new issues, recognize mistakes as learning and teaching opportunities, and consistently break down large problems into smaller, more manageable ones. Communication: Strong communicator who possesses the ability to articulate information clearly and concisely with the business. You should document work in a clear, easy-to-follow manner, collaborate well with team members as both a mentor and mentee, take in vague requirements and ask the right questions to ensure clarification, offer feedback appropriately and effectively, seek out and receive constructive criticism well, listen when others are speaking, and make space for colleagues to share their thoughts. Leadership: Intermediate leadership skills with the ability to help create a safe environment for others to learn and grow as engineers. You should have a proven track record of self-motivation in identifying opportunities and tracking team efforts. A Bachelor's degree in computer science, related STEM field, or its equivalent in education and/or work experience is required. Additionally, 4 additional years of software engineering experience is necessary. What Is in It for You?
