Position Summary
The Enterprise Architect (EA) is responsible for creating, maintaining, and managing IT architecture models and their detailed components. The EA interprets and applies architectural information to support business improvement initiatives, including design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of IT systems.
The EA ensures IT systems architecture remains coherent, secure, and aligned with organizational strategies, policies, and standards. This role spans business, application, data, and technology architecture perspectives.
Essential Job Functions
Direct the overall IT/technology architecture activities.
Recommend and participate in the design, development, and maintenance of the Enterprise Architecture.
Manage and maintain IT/technology architecture models.
Research IT solutions in the market based on business requirements and needs.
Manage third-party vendor relationships, including due diligence and implementation oversight.
Provide recommendations on third-party packaged or cloud solutions.
Implement strategies for IT/technology architecture work.
Participate in meetings with clients and partners regarding designated projects.
Recommend and contribute to long-term enterprise strategic and operating plans.
Share best practices and lessons learned; update technical system architecture based on evolving technologies.
Establish and lead Architecture Working Groups for maintaining the company’s IT applications architecture.
Collaborate with relevant teams to review solution objectives and constraints; ensure alignment with EA standards.
Recommend suitable high-level technical architectures.
Identify areas for further study and participate in Proof-of-Concept initiatives.
Identify implementation risks and analyze their potential impact.
Recommend and participate in the design and implementation of standards, tools, and methodologies.
Education & Certifications
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Systems Design or Computer Science preferred
Project Management certification is a plus
Experience / Minimum Requirements
~10+ years of related experience
~ Certifications in two or more of the following:
~ MCSE, MCSD, MCTS, CCNA, Java, Linux, Oracle
~ Experience as the technical lead for major technology implementations
~ Experience with Mergers & Acquisitions integration projects preferred
Other Skills & Abilities
Strong technical knowledge across IT hardware and software systems
Experience in security assessments
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong multitasking, organizational, and project-prioritization skills
Excellent interpersonal communication across business and IT levels
Ability to motivate, influence, and evangelize architectural best practices
Strong negotiation skills
Ability to think quickly, solve problems, and evaluate situations with a broad perspective
Strong understanding of business impact of technology, especially in wireless infrastructure
Process-oriented mindset with ability to create reusable, repeatable processes
Excellent oral and written communication; strong presentation skills
Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and effective under pressure
Effective team collaboration skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
Organizational Relationship
~ Reports to: IT Director, Enterprise Operations
Working Conditions
Normal office setting with no exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
Fully remote.
