ALARM DESIGNER JOB DESCRIPTION Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Perform on site surveys Prepare fire alarm drawings using AutoCAD based from working both site visits and architectural prints Calculate, design and coordinate a project from beginning to end Coordinate technical documents with other disciplines/contractors Modify and/or create processes to ensure consistent production and document control Assist superintendents and field personnel on system and code applications Assist sales department with system configuration, specification review and code applications for estimating projects Maintain project drawing files and records Knowledge: High School diploma or GED is required Construction experience is a plus Work Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Fire Alarm system design and Auto CAD APS State of TX preferred Skills and Competencies: Strong knowledge of industry codes such as IFC, NFPA, IBC, and NEC Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical and mechanical drawings Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records Ability to work in a fast-paced service/construction team environment Strong customer service skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook Ability to travel as needed Physical Requirements 75% Office Setting, including sitting, some bending, some lifting, walking and viewing. 25% driving AFP Alarm & Detection offers competitive compensation and an excellent benefit package including: Paid Holidays and Vacation Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Short-term and Long-term Disability Life Insurance Health Savings Account 401(k) We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
