Serving South Texas for nearly 100 years, Valley Baptist offers cuttingedge neurosurgical technology, robust trauma and stroke programs, and a strong interdisciplinary team that includes neurointerventional and critical care support. 586 licensed beds (380 operational) ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center - first and only in Cameron County DNV Comprehensive Stroke Center - only one south of San Antonio Comprehensive Neuro, Spine, and Stroke Care Programs Only Pediatric ICU and Geriatric Behavioral Health Unit in the county One of three Level III NICUs in Cameron County CARF Accredited Inpatient Rehabilitation Regional leader in orthopedic and joint replacement surgery EMR: Cerner Candidate Requirements: M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school Successful completion of an ACGMEaccredited Neurosurgery Residency Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery Texas medical license (or eligibility to obtain one) Practice Scope: Schedule: Approximately two clinic days per week (15-20 patients per day) OR Time: Surgery days as needed; block times available Call: 10 days per month of paid primary call plus 10 backup call days (backup rarely called in) Compensation: Paid call at $2,800 per day in addition to base salary and production bonuses Support Staff: Dedicated Certified First Assists in the OR Visa Sponsorship: Available for J1 and H1b noncap exempt candidates Practice Location: Clinic located in the professional building attached to the hospital This role offers the opportunity to serve a region with a significant community need, ensuring immediate patient volume and longterm stability in a rapidly growing area.
