Preschool Director/Teacher

Little Ivy Preschool is a private childcare center located near Downtown Napa, a place where children learn, play and grow in a safe, clean, inclusive, and nurturing environment. We care for children ages 2-5, 5 days per week.
Little Ivy Preschool is expanding, and as we grow in the community we are looking for that special person to serve as our director, and to provide leadership and help nurture the sense of culture and community that are so important to our enrolled families and staff. Little Ivy has been open in the City of Napa for six years and in that short time we have developed a reputation as the place where families can trust their children will be cared for, supported, educated, and supported, and where employees can feel supported in their needs, growth, and continuing education.
Due to the active involvement of our school management team in back-end administration, a special element of our Director role is the ability of the Director to remain actively engaged in the classroom with the children, and not be so consumed with office work to be taken away from the hands-on education and care for our enrolled children as many schools' directors must be. We are looking for a director who is an effective communicator, with enthusiasm and professionalsim to work closelly with our teachers, staff and management team to support the community that is Little Ivy as we continue to grow, with an expansion location opening soon.
Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum to enhance children's cognitive, social, and emotional development;
- Act as in-classroom teacher when needed or desired;
- Communicate effectively with parents, CCLD, and management team;
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive learning environment
- Ensure the classroom is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies for daily activities;
- Adhere to all licensing regulations and maintain a safe environment for children, including maintaining appropriate records of children and staff required by CCLD
Must satisfy CCLD Diretor requirements, including two years' prior experience, an AA or Bachelor's degree in ECE, as well as at least 3 units in Administrative or Staff Relations;
- Previous experience working in a leadership or administrative role with preschool-aged children in a daycare or educational setting;
- Strong knowledge of child development principles and practices;
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents/guardians, and colleagues
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans that support the needs of the enrolled children;
- Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for working with young children;
- Mandatory reporter training
