Come make a difference at Ochsner Health and discover your future today This job has advanced certification in nuclear medicine and assesses patients and safely performs routine nuclear medicine procedures in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and protocols. Serves as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students. Education Required - Completion of an approved nuclear medicine program. Work Experience Required - None. Preferred - Nuclear medicine experience. Certifications Required - Registered in Nuclear Medicine by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or equivalent body as recognized by the American College of Radiology (ACR), or Intersocietal Commission Accreditation Nuclear Medicine Laboratories (ICANL) ORregistry eligible, registered within 90 days of employment, and temporary state license. Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications. Ability to travel throughout and between facilities and work a flexible work schedule (e.g. 24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability). Uses radiology information systems to facilitate care. Independently operates equipment to complete imaging procedure according to protocol (including placement of IV and administration of radiopharmaceuticals). Reviews patient images prior to transmission to ensure images meet diagnostic quality standards. Completes timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards and performing notification/remediation as warranted. Leads departmental programs, protocol development, system standardization, competency validation, safety programs, accreditation, and quality/efficiency initiatives. Assists in the orientation and training of junior staff; provides feedback to annual staff evaluations.
