The candidate will operate successfully in a cross-dock model picking up a loaded truck from a nightly delivery at the assigned loading dock and return the empty truck back to the assigned lot at the end of the route. May be required to assist occasionally with loading trucks, palletizing products, and performing other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager. Local CDL-A Shuttle Driver Job Summary & Details: We have immediate job openings for dependable CDL-A Shuttle Delivery Truck Drivers to safely and efficiently operate a tractor-trailer and transport doubles (potentially triples) between our facilities and shuttle yards, along with other duties as assigned. You may be required, on an as-needed basis, to unload/deliver various products to customer locations on an assigned route schedule. Qualifications: Minimum Requirements: 21+ years of age Must submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screen License to drive - valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with a clean driving record Commercial Vehicle Drivers must have the ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records Touch freight – may need to lift, push or move product weighing an average of 40-60 pounds and as much as 100 pounds repeatedly Flexibility – overtime as required, weekends and holidays as business needs require Preferred Requirements: At least 1 year of customer delivery experience At least 6 months of hand cart/hand truck experience At least 6 months of food and beverage experience At least 2 years of consistent work history Sysco is an Equal Opportunity Employer: All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or other characteristics protected by law.
