Vice President of Manufacturing [ Pittsburgh area ]
Salary : $225,000.00- $ 280,000.00 + 25% Bonus + LTI [stock] + 401K

Plans, directs, and controls all manufacturing activities at multi-locations locations to ensure the continuous improvement, cost effectiveness and controlled manufacture of products in support of corporate and sales forecasts and goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborates with executive and staff management to establish cohesive multi-plant annual operating budgets, production goals, manpower levels, and capital/maintenance requirements.
- Directs the manufacturing activities of all plant locations to ensure successful execution of established manufacturing goals and objectives.
- Monitors the transition of new product/processing technologies into the production area.
- Develops, communicates and ensures adherence to/compliance with company policies, rules and regulations relating to safety/health, performance standards, procedures, processes, and training requirements.
- Reviews and analyzes production, budget and spending levels, quality control, maintenance and operational reports and directs any necessary corrective actions.
- Collaborates with Industrial Relations and executive management to update and negotiate the collective bargaining agreements.
- Develops and directs the implementation of capital and maintenance plans.
Staff Responsibilities
- Responsible to uphold the ideals set forth in the company’s mission statement.
- Responsible within functional areas to ensure employee competence, set direction, and determine best methods to meet or exceed corporate objectives as set forth in the annual Business Plan.
Management/Supervisory Responsibilities .
- Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.
- Directly manages work of 5-10 employees with responsibility for overseeing performance management process for a significantly larger group of indirect reports.
- Participates in establishing plans for acquisition, retention and continuing development of key human resources throughout areas of responsibility.
Education/Experience (all education/experience bullets are required unless noted as “preferred”)
- BS/BA Degree preferred, preferably in Engineering or Manufacturing
- 10 years + experience in all phases of the manufacturing process, including plant management
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (all knowledge, skills and abilities are required unless noted as “preferred”)
- Ability to effectively persuade, convince and communicate with all levels of the organization, customer base, and outside parties
- Ability to maintain discretion, tact and poise to work with confidential company information
- Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to effectively direct the company’s operations to assist areas of responsibility to obtain corporate objectives
- Independent judgment and decision-making abilities
- Proven ability to inspire, motivate and lead integrated team of top performers
- Proven ability to make sound decisions under tight time constraints that have far-ranging impact and consequences, choosing appropriately among a wide variety of solutions to make decisions in the best interests of the corporation
- Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office products to organize and communicate
- Ability to understand and monitor budgets
- Ability to understand/interpret blueprints
- Management experience in manufacturing of cast and forged rolls for rolling industry
