Fleet Diesel Mechanic

*Job Description* Truck 63 is looking for a Fleet Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair heavy duty, fleet vehicles. You will be responsible for troubleshooting issues and fixing them aiming to maximum reliability and functionality. The ideal candidate will be able to work with their hands and be familiar with mechanical, electrical and air-conditioning systems of vehicles. The goal is to maintain a clean and safe fleet by fixing issues that are not covered by warranty. *Qualifications - Fleet Diesel Mechanic** Proven experience as a fleet diesel mechanic preferred * Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems of various types of vehicles * Working knowledge of vehicle electronics * Ability to handle various tasks on the job including but not limited to: repairs, cleaning, organizing, maintenance etc. * Strong troubleshooting skills and critical thinking * Strong attention to detail * Excellent communication skills, taking orders * High school diploma or equivalent; vocational school or apprenticeship certification is a plus * Must have valid NYS Driver License * CDL is a PLUS* NY State inspection license is a plus and all additional trainings/certificates pertaining to the trade are also a plus* If you are willing to work we are willing to train you* EXPERIENCE IS A PLUS AND PAY IS BASED ON EXPERIENCE. * *** PAY IS DECIDED AND BASED ON EXPERIENCE & SKILL LEVEL*** Job Type: Full-time Pay: $24.00 - $40.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40 per week Benefits: * 401(k)* 401(k) matching * Dental insurance * Employee discount * Health insurance * Life insurance * Paid time off * Retirement plan * Tuition reimbursement * Vision insurance Application Question(s): * Do you have reliable transportation to and from work?
