Research Scientist - Power Systems Optimization
At Hitachi Energy, we're driving the transformation of the power grid through cutting-edge research and innovation. As a Research Scientist in Power Systems Control and Optimization, you'll be at the forefront of developing technologies that make energy more reliable, sustainable, and accessible. Based in our Raleigh, NC research center, you'll collaborate with global experts to solve real-world challenges in grid integration, renewable energy, and system resilience.
This is more than a research role-it's a chance to influence the next generation of energy systems. You'll work on complex optimization problems, model dynamic power networks, and contribute to the evolution of AC/DC grids, DERs, and market-based operations. Propose, contribute to and lead R&D projects in power and energy systems
Collaborate with a global team to identify and solve real-world challenges for our customers.
Network in the company and actively distribute your knowledge and expertise.
Disseminate your results in scientific publications, patent applications, and technical reports.
D. degree in either Electrical Engineering or ISE/Operation research degree with power system application focus
Power system operation principles and issues
Market based system operation.
Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
Fluency in common programming languages like Python or C++, Matlab
Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
