Legal Assistant Paralegal

National litigation law firm is seeking a litigation associate for it's Sherman Oaks office. This firm is the premiere firm for practice areas such as insurance subrogation, products liability, catastrophic loss, and mass tort litigation. We are excited to partner with a National Law firm that is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join the LA team. The ideal candidate will be an integral part of our litigation team, assisting attorneys in all phases of the litigation process from the initial information-gathering stage through discovery and trial, and ending with careful archival of case material. Assist attorneys in all stages of litigation cases from onset through post-trial. Ascertaining calendaring and deadline management for all attorneys in the litigation department.
Conducting legal research and drafting legal documents such as pleadings, correspondence, deposition summaries, discovery, and investigative reports.
Organize and manage files, documents, and exhibits for use at depositions, hearings, and trials.
Communicate with clients, witnesses, court officials, and other parties in person, over the phone, and by written correspondence.
Maintaining and updating databases and tracking systems responding to discovery requests.
A minimum of 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal with significant experience in trial preparation and proceedings.
Paralegal certification or degree from an accredited college or university.
Proficient in legal research software such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
Strong understanding of the litigation process, legal terminology, court rules, and procedures.
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience in electronic document management and e-discovery tools is a plus.
