Senior Estimator – Commercial Construction

About the Role:
A well-established general contractor in the Sacramento region is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead preconstruction efforts across commercial, public works, education, and healthcare sectors. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented estimator who excels in conceptual budgeting, hard bids, GMPs, and delivering accurate takeoffs in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead estimating efforts for competitive bids, negotiated work, and design-build pursuits.
Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs, cost analyses, and subcontractor comparisons.
Develop conceptual estimates from limited plans or narratives.
Manage preconstruction schedules, value-engineering options, and cost-saving strategies.
Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
Collaborate with project managers, operations teams, and clients during preconstruction.
Support proposal development and present estimates internally and externally.
Qualifications:
~7–12+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
~ Strong knowledge of CSI divisions, plans, and construction methodologies.
~ Proficiency with estimating software (OST, Bluebeam, Sage, Procore, or similar).
~ Ability to evaluate subcontractor scopes and ensure complete bid coverage.
~ Excellent analytical and communication skills.
