Commercial General Manager

Randstad's client in Commack, NY has a Direct Hire opportunity for a Commercial General Manager. The Commercial General Manager will oversee operations and tasks performed to ensure all facets run smoothly and at a profit, make necessary decisions for the office in order to ensure compliance with company and government regulations, and direct the workflow of office staff, drivers, helpers and warehouse workers as needed. Will strive to ensure a positive experience for the client through training and a positive work environment for employees. This position requires ability to work full time on-site Monday through Friday normally 8am to 5pm and Saturdays at least once a month. Must have a least 5 years General Manager experience in a transportation/logistics environment. Some local travel as needed. Must have excellent verbal and written skills computer skills. Must have exceptional presentation and leadership skills. Commercial Moving and Storage experience a plus. Able to work overtime. Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 per year Shift: First Work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM Education: High School Responsibilities Oversee and coordinate the Commercial department Establish goals Track results and trends regularly for forecasting Report on team and individual performance Work with CFO and coordinate closing schedules for all billing and accounts Work with HR Manager to create and develop job descriptions, recruit and interview candidates on an ongoing basis Develop and implement training Coach and mentor staff Coordinate and implement yearly staff appreciation event and awards for staff Oversee warehouse staff and commercial sales to control warehouse goods inbound, receiving, pulls, locations and loading Work with Warehouse Manager to coordinate warehouse shifts, times and hours the warehouse staff works Stop abuse of the Local Trucks and make sure the trucks are in good running conditions Manage local dispatch hours of workflow, times and Saturday rotations, and stressful workload, Dispatch Planning out manpower for large Commercial Projects Other duties as assigned The essential functions of this role include: Working weekends Skills Planning Maintaining Records Scheduling Appointments Operations Logistics Transportation Management Qualifications Years of experience: 5 years Experience level: Experienced Randstad is a world leader in matching great people with great companies.
