HEART FAILURE AND HEART TRANSPLANT PROGRAM

The Cardiac & Vascular Institute at Memorial Healthcare System is actively seeking a dedicated and proactive Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its expanding team. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of advanced heart failure (AHF) specialists to oversee the treatment and management of patients in need of transplant surgery and advanced heart failure therapies. The ideal candidate will have clinical experience with AHF and cardiology patients. Candidates must have a National Certification as an acute care nurse practitioner or must have a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (or Master’s equivalent) from an ARC-PA accredited program and possess a Physician Assistant Certification. A BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross and Florida license must be obtained by date of hire. Schedule requirements are four, 10-hour shifts with weekend rotations. This is a full-time employed position that offers competitive benefits and a compensation package that is commensurate with training and experience. In addition to a large general cardiology practice, the MCVI includes all relevant subspecialties including electrophysiology, preventative and interventional cardiology, vascular, congenital heart disease, imaging, and genetics. The cardiothoracic surgical program has also earned and maintained the distinguished three-star rating from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons. Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, a 232-bed freestanding facility and part of the Memorial Healthcare System, has an established and highly recognized pediatric heart transplant program. The MCVI performed the first adult heart transplant in Broward County and has an active VAD and Adult Heart Transplant program since 2014. Memorial has the first accredited adult congenital heart program in the State of Florida and is the only ELSO Gold designated ECMO program in South Florida.
