In our Statewide Travel Demand Modeling Director role, you will direct the statewide travel demand forecasting program, guiding the development, refinement, and application of models and tools that inform critical transportation decisions. The individual in this position will also: Collaborate closely with the Metropolitan Council and other Metropolitan Planning Organizations to conduct travel behavior inventories and ensure that regional and statewide models work together seamlessly. Your expertise will help integrate modeling into planning, programming, project development, and policy analysis, supporting data-driven decisions across the agency. Play a key role in supporting the Transportation Impact Assessment Technical Advisory Committee, ensuring MnDOT’s models meet legislative requirements for evaluating greenhouse gas emissions and vehicle miles traveled. Experience must also demonstrate the following: Experience with travel demand modeling theory and practices. Experience working as a project leader or lead worker. Experience with quantitative and qualitative analysis and research techniques. Experience interpreting and applying federal and state transportation planning legislation, regulations, and guidelines. Note: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Planning, Geography, Urban Studies, Sociology, Political Science, Public Policy substitutes for six months of advanced professional experience.
