Travel Nursing Job Details Location: Wheeling, WV 26003 (West Virginia healthcare jobs) Estimated Weekly Salary: $1820 - $1950 Facility Setting: Acute Care – 6N Overflow Med/Surg Unit Unit Size: 30-bed medical surgical unit Patient Ratio: 1:6/7 (may be up to 1:7) Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Shift: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts, including weekends Contract Length: 13-week travel RN assignment (Start: 11/11/2025 – End: 2/10/2026) Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse Charting System: EPIC EMR Scrub Color: Navy Blue Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in West Virginia or compact state (multi-state nursing license accepted) Minimum 1 year of recent medical surgical (Med/Surg) nursing experience Current BLS (AHA) certification NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification Ability to manage patient ratios up to 1:7 in a fast-paced clinical environment Willingness to float to other hospital units as needed Submission of a valid, unexpired driver's license required Med/Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients with conditions including CHF, COPD, cellulitis, pneumonia, urosepsis, AKI, and post-surgical cases Titrate heparin drips according to aPTT lab results Collaborate with charge nurses and patient care technicians (PCTs) for optimal patient outcomes Monitor patients using remote telemetry systems Administer intermittent BiPAP therapy as needed (no ventilator management required) Document all care and assessments accurately in EPIC electronic medical records Participate in scheduled weekend and holiday rotations Demonstrate professionalism, adaptability, and strong clinical skills in a busy healthcare setting Apply now to join our dedicated healthcare team in Wheeling, WV and take the next step in your travel nursing career Benefits 401K with Matching, Healthcare, Dental and Vision About GHR With over 30 years of healthcare staffing experience, GHR Healthcare is your trusted partner in finding the perfect contract or permanent role in the healthcare industry.
