This large medical center in Jacksonville/Orange Park, FL is seeking a board certified/board eligible Trauma Surgeon to join our dynamic trauma and acute care surgery team with the only trauma center in Clay County. The Hospital is a Florida Department of Health Level II trauma center and is pursuing Level II verification by the American College of Surgeons. Fulltime role with 14 shifts per month: 12-hour primary in-house coverage, plus 12-hour back-up (rarely called in) The acute care surgery team has six advanced practice professionals, with 24-hour APP coverage General surgery and emergency medicine residents rotate on the service The program participates in TQIP and TQIP collaboratives 2,000+ trauma patients in 2021 Covers all general surgery call for the hospital Qualified Candidates: Board certified in General Surgery and fellowship trained in Surgical Critical Care Have, or be able to obtain, an unrestricted license to practice in Florida - not subject to any restrictions, probationary terms or conditions No history of license to practice being revoked, restricted or suspended by any professional licensing agency in any state or jurisdiction Have current, unrestricted DEA registration Incentive/Benefits Package:Employment position through the health system Physician Services Group (PSG)Highly competitive compensationComprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, short & long term disability options, 401k and moreCME time / allowanceOccurrence-based malpracticeAbout the Hospital: A full-service, acute-care hospital with 365 beds including 10 ORs and 28 ICU beds Ongoing expansion projects for 408 total inpatient beds, and an additional 20-bed ICU 44 bed emergency department with 2 dedicated trauma bays with 112,000 annual patient visits 9 ACGME residencies/fellowships including general surgery and emergency medicine About Jacksonville, FL:With over 200 days of sunshine per year, no state income taxes, lower cost of living, proximity to 22 miles of beaches, the largest urban park system in the nation, world-class fishing, vibrant street arts scene, and local distilleries and craft breweries, Jacksonville is a top destination to work and live.
