Position Overview A locum Anesthesiologist (MD/DO) is needed at a critical access hospital in southeast Alaska to provide OR coverage, OB anesthesia, ED support, and hospital call. The role includes weekday scheduled shifts plus required evening and weekend call. Weekly gross pay is estimated at $16,000 - $20,000, with additional compensation for callback and overtime. This position offers compensation in the Top 10% of anesthesiology locum roles nationally. Assignment Highlights Specific Dates: Nov and Dec Shift Schedule: 5x8s, Monday-Friday (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM) After-hours call required (weeknights and weekends) Setting: Critical Access Hospital 25 beds Procedures: General OR cases, OB anesthesia, ED support, occasional A-line & central line Volume: 5-15 patient contacts/day Solo Coverage EMR: Epic Prepaid travel & lodging provided Malpractice insurance covered by HPA Healthcare HPA Healthcare is a Joint Commission-certified agency Skills & Experience Board Certified in Anesthesiology Active Alaska license required (expedited 30 days; must already hold or be eligible) Certifications: BLS, SCLS, PALS required; NRP and ATLS strongly preferred Experience in OR anesthesia, OB support, and ED anesthesia coverage Independent practice capability (solo coverage)
