We provide clinical services to include "hands on" direct care at over 800 sites around the world, many of which include inpatient clinical care capabilities. With 12,000 staff (including 5,200 medical and behavioral health providers) our services include the design, deployment, and operation of healthcare solutions including freestanding surgical facilities in remote and austere environments, telemedicine consultation through a wide range of virtual modalities, referrals to a global network of more than 100,000 vetted providers, and global aeromedical evacuation.
This Position is Contingent Upon Award of the Contract.
The Medical Director is responsible for medical oversight, direction, and leadership of the medical staff regarding all areas of healthcare for the project. The Medical Director scope of work to provide direct support to WASS AAR in completing the contract requirements supporting INL/A mission's CONUS and OCONUS. This includes oversight of the Flight Medics program, flight crewmember's aviation medicine, aeromedical evacuation, establishment of new INL/A mission locations, and coordination with regional RMOs as required.
Perform scheduled OCONUS medical surveys and site medical assessments (often in austere and difficult environments) and present findings and recommendations.
Ensure adequate medical services and response capabilities are available at all OCONUS locations.
Author and approver of all medical protocols that authorize AAR WASS Flight Medics to work without direct medical supervision.
Support the planning and execution of fixed or rotary wing aeromedical evacuation, Flight Medic support, or other more general medical services at assigned and other locations as directed by AAR.
Oversee aeromedical emergency medical equipment, emergency medications, and consumable supplies to ensure Western standard medical and health standards of care.
Contribute to the development of budgetary estimates, CONOPS, plans and directives requiring medical expertise.
Provide availability for program personnel to speak with a medical doctor in case of an emergency.
Act as an advisor for Human Resources, attending physicians and/or Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) to assist with return to duty for aircrew.
Responsible for collaboration and approvals between WASS AAR, local medical professionals, Regional Medical Officers (RMO), and the US Embassy to ensure compliance with USG policy and local protocols.
Adhere to and support the AAR Quality Assurance Program.
Notify the AAR representative and PMO Safety Office of incidents involving fatality, serious injury, safety of flight, or structural damage to aircraft and other incidents which pose an immediate threat to personnel and property within 2 hours.
Hold and maintain current DEA registration number to procure controlled substances.
Medical Licensure required in a US State.

Ten (10) Years of clinical experience in Western standards of medical and health care relevant to aviation medicine, OCONUS aeromedical medical evacuations (MEDEVAC and or CASEVAC), and lifesaving medical procedures.
Experience as a Military Flight Surgeon with demonstrated experience in aviation medicine, emergency medical services, personnel recovery, and aeromedical evacuation.
Demonstrated experience in executive-level interpersonal skills and the ability to work in challenging conditions and environments.
Working knowledge of advanced trauma care, including immediate assessment and treatment of any traumatic life-threatening injury.
Working knowledge of advanced cardiology, with appropriate drug treatment protocols, advanced diagnosis and treatment of illnesses, radiological (basic) analysis, and body recovery procedures.
Working knowledge of establishing and maintaining sanitary requirements to maintain a healthy working environment in OCONUS remote locations.
Graduate from an approved medical school in the United States with a Doctor of Medicine (M.Must meet pre-deployment physical requirements.
Valid US Passport with at least 6 months before expiration date.
Possess an active DoD Secret Clearance, as dictated by USG approved Contract Addendum J.8, prior to contract performance.
Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant's background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
