We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Director of Engineering to join our fast-paced environment in the Engineering industry. This is an opportunity to lead a team of engineers and play a pivotal role in the design, development, and implementation of innovative engineering solutions. The successful candidate will have a background in managing complex engineering projects and a passion for driving efficiency and excellence in all aspects of our engineering operations.
Provide leadership and direction to the engineering team, fostering an environment of continuous learning and innovation.
Oversee the commissioning of new projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Drive process improvement initiatives across the engineering department, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
Develop and implement robust process engineering strategies, ensuring they align with the company's overall business objectives.
Manage all aspects of manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Collaborate with the food and beverage team to develop engineering solutions that enhance product quality and production efficiency.
Develop and manage the engineering budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and strategically.
Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, clients, and regulatory bodies, to ensure the company's engineering operations are aligned with industry trends and expectations.
Ensure all engineering activities comply with health and safety regulations, fostering a culture of safety within the team.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is required. A Master’s degree or MBA would be considered an asset.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior engineering role, with a proven track record of managing complex engineering projects.
Demonstrated experience in commissioning, process improvement, and process engineering.
Strong background in manufacturing management, preferably within the food and beverage industry.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex engineering concepts to a range of stakeholders.
Proficient in using engineering software and technology.
Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations within the engineering industry.
Ability to travel as needed to oversee projects and meet with stakeholders.
Professional Engineering (PE) certification would be considered an asset.
