About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President, Legal to lead its legal function as it continues to scale. This senior role is pivotal in overseeing all legal affairs, team management, and the development of policies and processes that support the company's growth with confidence. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of legal matters, including but not limited to, data privacy and security law, customer contract negotiation, and intellectual property issues. The role demands a strategic leader who can set the legal strategy, priorities, and standards, and who has a proven track record in building and mentoring legal teams. The VP, Legal will also be the primary resource for the executive team on governance, risk, and compliance matters, and will be expected to have a deep understanding of the regulatory landscape relevant to SaaS, data privacy, and the sectors the company serves. Applicants for the Vice President, Legal position at the company should hold a J.D. and have at least 10 years of legal experience, with a significant portion in-house at a B2B SaaS or tech enterprise. The role requires a candidate with a strong background in data privacy and security law, as well as a solid grounding in intellectual property law as it applies to software products. Experience in negotiating and closing enterprise SaaS customer contracts is essential. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to balance legal risk with commercial pragmatism, excellent negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to influence cross-functionally. The role also involves managing outside counsel relationships, overseeing employment law matters, and supporting M&A and other strategic initiatives.
