Philadelphia PA, Philadelphia County, PA; Pennsylvania, United States Teraplex Full-time
Teraplex fabricates fully integrated modular AI compute ready data centers. We deliver productized 2 to 5 MW data center clusters and the power infrastructure that feeds them: LV switchboards, MV switchgear, modular substations, gensets, and SCADA, coordinated on one schedule. Our customers are AI cloud operators, data center developers, and energy companies that cannot wait out US equipment backlogs.  Part-time contract, full-time reviewable within 180d | Remote, US-based Site data. Own the site data request: utility service size and voltage, interconnection status, one-line diagrams where they exist, site and pad constraints, cooling constraints, network path, permitting status, and schedule drivers. Configuration review. When a prospect requests a configuration, verify that it works: IT load against electrical capacity against cooling, redundancy level, generator sizing against step loads, service rating against connected load, voltage and frequency compatibility. Proposal support. Draft the technical sections of budgetary proposals from written inputs. Review manufacturer and fabricator responses to our requests: completeness, technical compliance, exclusions and assumptions, testing scope, and the linkage between schedule and payment. Build clear comparison tables and draft the follow-up questions. Join prospect and supplier calls as the engineering participant. Document what was said, what was claimed, and what still requires written confirmation. 8+ years in data center facilities, power systems, or critical electrical infrastructure, including customer-facing technical work (presales/solutions engineering, application engineering, owners engineer, commissioning, field engineering). ~ Able to check compute loads against power and cooling: rack densities, heat rejection, airflow, and liquid cooling as used in current AI and HPC deployments. ~ Coordinate and process one-line diagrams, equipment submittals, MEP drawings, and factory quotes ~ Working knowledge of LV distribution (480 V class) and MV equipment (through 35 kV class): switchboards, switchgear, transformers, generator integration, plus data center cooling and mechanical basics. ~ Have written technical proposal, design-basis, or RFP/RFQ response content ~ Comfortable with early stage: uneven workload, no support staff, checklists you build yourself. PE license (electrical or mechanical) or a recognized data center credential. Hands-on work with high-density GPU or HPC racks: in-rack power distribution (busway, rack PDUs), direct-to-chip liquid cooling, CDUs, and heat-rejection equipment. Commissioning or start-up experience in data center facilities, including integrated systems testing. Direct work with containerized or modular data centers, BESS, or skid-built power equipment. Experience evaluating fabrication quotations: Familiarity with the documentation side of importing heavy electrical equipment.
