Overview: GovCIO is currently hiring for Senior Solutions Architect to support our client’s contract needs. This position will be responsible for providing detailed information with deep expertise in enterprise IT systems and a strong understanding of Department of Defense (DoD) security postures. This position is located in the Alexandria, VA area and will be an on-site position.
Architect and design scalable, secure, and resilient IT solutions across on-premises and cloud environments (e.g., AWS GovCloud, Azure Government).
Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity frameworks, including RMF, DISA STIGs, and Zero Trust principles.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, cybersecurity, program management, and government stakeholders.
Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in enterprise IT, cloud services, and federal cybersecurity mandates.
Review test plans/procedures to ensure they meet contractual objectives and participate in the testing process to validate requirements.
Coordinate the planning, design, and installation of equipment, applying engineering and programming knowledge along with the use of sophisticated instruments and computing systems.
Participate in system conceptual design and document design concepts to support solution development and stakeholder alignment.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field with 12 years (or commensurate experience)
Minimum 10 years of experience in enterprise IT architecture, preferably within federal or DoD environments.
Hands-on experience with both on-prem infrastructure and cloud platforms (e.g., VMware, Azure, AWS).
Ansible, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines).
Cleared individual for a government Secret Clearance.
Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Architect, CISSP, or DoD 8570-compliant credentials.
Background in systems engineering or software development is a plus.
This includes the ability to evaluate and present information that will facilitate effective and timely decision-making through written and oral communication materials that effectively summarize findings with recommendations.
Experience in creating architectural models demonstrating how products, operations and systems interoperate within the organization.
